Hi, I’m Hannah and welcome to my blog. Nice to meet you all!
I’ll start with a tad about myself: I was born and raised in Cambridgeshire in the UK and currently reside in Leeds as a student. And I do actually love Leeds; the student life here is fabulous and for anyone who has been you know the vibe: everything is alive.
I’m pretty much your standard twenty-something whose passions involve socialising (and usually getting a bit too drunk), napping (one of life’s necessities) and eating good food. I’m also part of two cheerleading teams and coach a third, so cheer is a big part of my life. I love all things health and fitness and, if money permits, I’ll be off exploring new countries and have a sense of adventure. I spent eight months travelling Australia (and am returning for another year in summer to complete a study year abroad – very excited!) and have recently been to Berlin! But for now, Leeds it is.
Here’s the deal: I started this blog as a student stuck in Leeds in a large seven bed house alone. That’s right. Alone. My six other wonderful housemates had left me to mourn in self pity as they trot around the globe all summer, whilst I sat and started trying to work myself out of a deep, oh so very very deep, hole of an overdraft I’d wangled myself into through my first year of uni. *Sigh*
So with much spare time, a desire of somewhere to get my thoughts out and a strong need for some sort of summer project, came the birth of my blog; to share a little piece of my mind with you! The main aim of my blog is to provide you with a little bit of sunshine, because sometimes life sucks (and England can get rather grey at times). So here’s my space to share my stories and experience. The whole purpose of my blog is to promote and encourage people to do what they love and how to live a healthy, happy and positive lifestyle.
What do I blog about?
One thing which makes me undoubtedly happy is food. Good food. Is my stomach the way to my heart? Who knows, but it sure isn’t far off. So scattered about my blog you’ll find posts about food; my favourite places to eat, eating on a budget and scrumptious recipes for you to try. Most importantly to me is knowing healthy yet delicious options, which leads me on to me second topic: health and fitness.
Currently studying a degree in Human Physiology, the human body is so interesting to me and health and fitness is a big part of my life. And trust trust trust me, a healthy you equals a happy you. So stay tuned for tips and tricks for a fitter you. Of course, a healthy body goes hand in hand with a healthy mind. Feeling stressed? Got too much on? Not sure how to motivate yourself? My blog aims to alleviate those feelings and get you living a positive lifestyle.
Amongst the foodie, healthy, mindfulness posts, you’ll stumble across my top tips for students. Throughout my first year of uni I learnt a lot and alongside living with pals, being able to go out every night of the week and not having to work, being a student can be hard. You’ll find posts on everything from making your student room feel like home, to surviving on a strict budget, managing your workload and overcoming procrastination (that one thing that gets us all).
And last (but certainly not least): travel. My gap year in Australia left me hungry for travel! So much so that I’m heading back out to Perth next summer to study for the year; Australia stole my heart, okay? If my budget permitted I’d be out of England for good, ideally laid back on some beach in Hawaii catching a killer tan and drinking pina coladas until my heart’s content. For now I’m sat at my laptop writing blog posts on everywhere I’ve been.
